About

Hi! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m Katy, resident creative writing buff and general wordsmith. If it has to do with the English language, I’m probably a massive nerd really enthusiastic about it. You can find me on the NaNoWriMo site year round!

Here’s what I do:

Developmental Editing (getting stories to behave)
Writer’s block? Uncooperative plot? Characters meandering aimlessly through their chapters? Whether you’ve written 5 words or 50k, it’s my job to get the story unstuck and back on track.

Poetry Workshops (no rhyming required)
Have a couple poems that aren’t quite right yet? Poetry is my extra special specialty, and so I know how fickle it can be. My job is to work with you and your poem(s) to fine-tune and help get your message across.

Beta Reading (fresh eyes for the thing you made)
Congratulations! You made a thing! My job now is to read the thing and give you notes on my impressions as a first-time reader (and actionable feedback, if you so choose). Think of it as a trial-run for your audience before they get their hands on your work.

Editing (because sometimes rough drafts are really rough)
Proofreading not going to cut it? If you have text that exists but needs some TLC (like reorganization, clarity, and yes, proofreading), then my job is to conduct line edits to smooth out the kinks and get your words in the right order so that they have the most impact. After all: it’s not just what you say, but how you say it.

Ghostwriting (making the words go)
Have the best story idea ever but the writing part is getting in the way? My job is to turn your ideas into words on a page, and then your name goes on the finished work. I’m like a super fancy typewriter that runs on chai lattes.

Proofreading (because English is hard)
Did you know that spelling bees aren’t a thing in other languages? That’s because other languages follow predictable rules. Meanwhile, English is breaking rules left and right and generally being a problem child. My job is to navigate all of the goofy exceptions so that you don’t have to.

Formatting (presentation is key)
If you’ve already gotten the text sorted out but need it to look just right, then I can help wrangle the words into the right places. From KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) to a Word Document, my job is to set up your text so that it makes logical sense and is polished to a high shine.
